Leopold Gottlieb was a Polish-Jewish modernist painter. He was born in Drohobych, Galicia, received his art education in Krakow and Munich, and in 1904 moved to Paris. Gottlieb was famous for his portraits. His brother, Maurycy Gottlieb, who was also a painter, died before Leopold was born.
