1. Served in the Austrian Army during WWI (M. Hasten, Mark My Words, 1; H. Hasten, I Shall Not Die, 11).
2. Arrived to Bohorodchany in the early 1920s from Chodorov, after the betrothing (H. Hasten, I Shall Not Die, 6).
3. Served in the Soviet police in Bohorodczany in 1939-41 (M. Hasten, Mark My Words, 11; H. Hasten, I Shall Not Die, 10).
4. Escaped with his family to Russia in June 1941 (H. Hasten, I Shall Not Die, 12).
