According to the statistical data submitted by the local authorities on May 31, 1920, there were 3072 people in Porohy: 2880 Catholics, 128 Russians and 164 Jews. ( CAHJP, Hm2/8888.14)
According to the census of 1921 (not including army register) there were 2277 people in Porohy: 150 declared jewish religion while 146 declared Jewish nationality.
